Guan Eng slams PAS' hypocrisy

At the same time, Guan Eng also slammed PAS' hypocrisy of playing a dual-faced political game by rubbing shoulders with Umno on one side while picking up a fight with it on the other.
"DAP has never been told, nor it ever agreed, with the unity talks between PAS and Umno.
"We have never discussed it in any Pakatan meetings," said the DAP secretary-general during a press conference in Komtar, George Town today..
He indicated that his father was spot on to suggest that the opposition pact's political confidence would be shaken by PAS flirtation with Umno without the knowledge of other Pakatan allies.

PAS owes thorough explanation to Pakatan
“PAS engages in talks with Umno on one hand while challenging the same party in an electoral battle in Manek Urai.
“I cannot understand its motive,” said the Penang chief minister.
He stressed that the PAS leadership owed a thorough explanation to the Pakatan top leadership regarding the unity talks with Umno.
He said DAP was unhappy with PAS for keeping its Pakatan allies in the dark over its ambitious plan to form a unity government in collaboration with Umno.
The issue of unity talks dominated PAS' annual congress over the last weekend with many leaders and delegates slamming the party leadership's initiatives to hold talks with arch rivals Umno to form an ambitious unity government at the federal level.
Even the much-revered PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat and ousted Perak menteri besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin openly opposed such an an idea, which if materialised, could weaken the Pakatan coalition.
The unity talk was the main reason for Kelantan PAS strongman Husam Musa to challenge Nasharuddin Mat Isa for the deputy president's post. However, he was defeated by the incumbent.
Bloody attack on mosque condemned
PAS leaders are expected to be quizzed on the issue when the Pakatan top leadership holds a coalition meeting during next week's parliamentary sitting.
Meanwhile, Lim condemned the bloody attack on a mosque that killed 11 people in the neighbouring Muslim-majority southern Thailand’s Narathiwat province.
He called on the Thai government to investigate the killings thoroughly and punish those behind the attack.
“It was a gross violation of human rights.
“It’s brutal, inhumane and cruel to attack Muslim worshippers in a mosque,” said Lim.
Last Monday, masked gunmen stormed the mosque in Narathiwat province and sprayed worshippers with bullets during evening prayers.
Thailand's army chief has denied claims that security forces were involved in the attack.
