Ten political commandments for PAS

To dream the ‘Malaysian dream' PAS must sincerely practise these 10 political commandments at all times:
1. PAS must jettison its Islamic state ideology and religious bigotry for a middle-of-the-road political course for the greater good of the nation and for the people of all races, religious faiths, cultures and creed.
2. PAS must guard against the temptation of deceiving its allies in Pakatan Rakyat with cunning plans.
3. PAS must practise genuine power-sharing in an professional and civil manner, and never dream of dominating any of its partners in Pakatan Rakyat, but abide by decisions reached democratically even if at times the decisions may differ from its preferred stance.
4. PAS must never forget the history of political change embedded in the March 8, 2008 general elections which came with the multi-group cooperation of NGOs as well as political parties that eventually became Pakatan Rakyat.
5. PAS must be open to other political groups which share Pakatan Rakyat's ideology where everyone born in Malaysia thinks and feels he/she is a full-blooded Malaysian with equal rights, privileges and opportunities.
6. PAS must never practice the evil ‘divide-and-rule' policy in this beloved country.
7. PAS must always uphold the federal constitution, rule of law, Rukunegara, parliamentary democracy and separation of power among the executive, legislative and judiciary branches of government.
8. PAS must never do anything to endanger the fledgling coalition that is Pakatan Rakyat.
9. PAS must fully support, if it becomes necessary, someone other than from its own party to lead the country or states or local council, and it must abandon any thought of ‘grab-it-all- whenever-possible' philosophy.
10. PAS must fully support developmental efforts in the country for the well-being of all its citizens, as well as practice good governance, professionalism and fairness in strategic policy formulation and implementation.
