Second arrest warrant out for RPK

Another arrest warrant has been issued against blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin after he failed to turn up at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today for his criminal defamation trial.

Judge Mohamad Sekeri Mamat also issued a show-cause order to the bailor, Raja Petra's wife Marina Lee Abdullah, for not being present in court today.
The proceedings had been fixed for three days beginning today. Federal Territory head of prosecution DPP Anselm Charles Fernandis applied for the warrant of arrest after Raja Petra and Marina were not present.
Lawyer Amerjit Singh Sidhu and J Chandra represented Raja Petra.
A total of 14 prosecution witnesses are slated to testify in the criminal defamation trial.
Mohamad Sekeri has now fixed July 2 for mention.
Raja Petra is alleged to have defamed Rosmah Mansor and her aide Lt-Colonel Norhayati Hassan and her husband Lt-Col Abdul Aziz Buyong, by implicating them in the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.
Rosmah is the wife of premier Najib Abdul Razak. Both have denied any involvement in the murder of the Mongolian national.
On April 23, the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court had issued a warrant of arrest for Raja Petra when he did not turn up for his sedition trial.
He's now in Brisbane
Last week, when the case came up, the deputy public prosecutor said the warrant of arrest could not be served as Raja Petra could not be located. His case has now been slated for mention on July 17.
Raja Petra, 59, is the editor of the MalaysiaToday web portal, on which the allegedly seditious article titled 'Let's send the Altantuya murderers to hell' was posted.
The blogger of royal descent has since claimed to be in self-imposed exile from Selangor following a fallout with the palace over his refusal to apologise to the Perak sultan.
According to the police, Raja Petra is currently in Brisbane, Australia.
The police are planning to seek Interpol's help to search for the fugitive blogger.
