English newspapers

New Straits Times headlined the Health Ministry's search for the remaining 106 passengers of AirAsia flight AK5358 as a passenger on route to Penang on May 13 was diagnosed with influenza A(H1N1) virus.

The Star also reported on the Health Ministry's call for passengers of the AirAsia flight and the ministry's concern that the number of people at risk of contracting the virus could increase.

Malay newspapers

Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian also headlined the influenza A(H1N1) virus which reached our shores last week and called for the passengers of the AirAsia flight to come forward to be tested for the virus.

Chinese newspapers

All the Chinese dailies highlighted the Health Ministry's call for 106 passengers and crew members on the AirAsia Flight AK5358.

Tamil newspapers

All Tamil dailies - Malaysia Nanban, Makkal Osai and Tamil Nesan - reported on the defeat of LTTE in Sri Lanka and questioned on the whereabouts of rebel leader V Prabhakaran.

Malaysia Nanban also highlighted Hindraf legal advisor P Uthayakumar's assurance that he would continue with the struggles of the movement.

New Straits Times commented on the indifference of people's attitude towards the spread of influenza A(H1N1) virus. Efforts made by the government, organisation and health authorities were made futile by those who display a little concern or ignorance to the global situation, such as the passengers from flight Malaysia Airlines MH091.

Utusan Malaysia urged the government to take stricter measures to ensure the influenza A(H1N1) global epidemic does not spread throughout the country.

Berita Harian commented on the government's effort to improve the standards of teachers in the country.

Nanyang Siang Pau urged all the A(H1N1) flu high risk persons to contact the Health Ministry to be quarantined at home in order to minimize to spread of the virus.

Sin Chew Daily also called upon the Health Ministry to strengthen measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Malaysia Nanban also commented on the spread of the highly risky A(H1N1) flu in Malaysia.
