Both New Straits Times and the Star continued coverage on the Perak crisis with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak offering olive branch to Pakatan Rakyat in resolving the crisis. The premier also said that Barisan Nasional was ready to face state elections if the sultan of Perak decides to dissolve the assembly.

Malay newspapers

Utusan Malaysia front-paged promotions for 176,000 civil servants in the support group in the federal services. Najib stated the promotions were the government's way of appreciating their services.

Berita Harian also led with Najib stating that it was up to the sultan to call for fresh elections in Perak.

Tamil newspapers

Tamil dailies Malaysia Nanban and Tamil Nesan also led with the continuing crisis in Perak as Najib stated that BN was not afraid to face fresh elections in Perak.

Makkal Osai reported Najib as stating that only the Perak sultan has the prerogative to call for fresh elections in Perak.
