Evicted speaker cries 'conspiracy!'

After trying every trick in the book to hold on to his chair, Sivakumar's ordeal culminated yesterday when he was forcibly dragged out, kicking and shouting, from the House and locked in the changing room [SEE VIDEO]
It was later revealed that BN speaker R Ganesan had "no other choice" but to ask the police to evict his predecessor in such a dramatic manner.
Speaking about the incident at a press conference in Ipoh today, Sivakumar claimed that it was a conspiracy to remove him.
He also related how he was "illegally confined" in the changing room after his unceremonious exit from the House.
The businessman-turned-politician has also filed a police report on the matter.
Sivakumar insisted that he remained the state speaker as the assembly sitting -and the motions passed - yesterday were illegal and unconstitutional, with several provisions in the assembly's Standing Orders not being followed.
He also said that state secretary Abdul Rahman Hasim had instructed the sergeant-at-arms and the assembly secretary to ignore his (Sivakumar's) directives in the assembly yesterday.
Sivakumar further added that he found it strange that the BN, which has initially maintained that the March 3 'tree assembly' sitting was illegal, yesterday passed resolutions against the said sitting.
He was also disappointed that his directives and invitations for the assembly sitting were not respected by the BN.
He said that Section 2(2) and (3) of the Standing Orders which stated that the speaker has the sole right to decide on the sitting arrangements procedures was also not followed.
Gangsters in charge
Later in a police report, Sivakumar said that BN Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir, the six exco members and three independents had failed to adhere to his instructions to leave the assembly.
The report was lodged at the Ipoh district police headquarters at about 11.30am.
"I had announced that these 10 were to leave the house but they refused.
"Not only that, they also caused ruckus in the House by proposing several motions even when the sitting has not officially started," he added.
He also complained about the entry of police personnel and several people suspected to be gangsters to disrupt the sitting.
"Although I tried hard to issue a warning for them not to act in a rowdy manner and not to stop me from performing my duties, this group of men had forcibly removed me from the House."
He said that he was dragged out to the assembly and locked up in a room for more than an hour.
He also said that commotion in the assembly caused injuries to several Pakatan elected representatives, including to Thomas Su (Pasir Pinji), Chang Lih Kang (Teja) and Seah Leong Peng (Pasir Bedamar) (right).
Perak DAP chairperson Ngeh Khoo Ham described yesterday's imbroglio as a 'coup d'etat' by the police and state secretary.
He also accused Zambry and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak of “selling out the independence of the state legislative assembly."
