This ban is against the federal constitution. It is against our freedom of expression.

Stephen Ng: Now, is this another tactic used by the BN government to win a by-election? If it is, I simply find it hard to swallow.

In a democratic country, banning any political party from harping on some unsettled issues is almost unheard of; therefore, for the home minster to set out such a rule is simply obnoxious.

If people are banned from talking about any topic of public interest, issues or scandals such as the Watergate scandal in the US, they will still talk with their own conscience.

I, for one, would vote against any political party that tries to ban certain topics from being raised or uses the police force to quash any dissent.

Before long, the people in power will; use the ban to stop others from highlighting such issues in Parliament or in public.

In the case of the Altantuya murder, I am still wondering whether the real culprits could be still at large.

Is this where Malaysia is heading to? If it is, enough is enough and it is time that there be a change of government at the federal level.

Kiv T: It really makes me sick to see how these politician spend the people's money and get away with it. I cannot imagine spending almost RM1 million for a holiday trip.

Sure, because it was the people's money, he even brought his maid along for the trip! How wonderful!

This is what people say ‘living like a king'. But I really wonder if our king would spend this amount for a trip.

This is the reason why a majority of the GLCs are not making money - because of all these ‘donations' Really making me sick. Perhaps this is the real reason why some people get into politics.

Not because they care about you and me but for all the perks and holidays and extra pocket money they are getting. The report says a 'reconnaissance team' which went to make arrangements for the trip spent RM366,000.

How many people do you need to make arrangement for the ‘kings' to go on holiday to justify spending RM366k? My goodness!

Surely two person are more then enough to do a recce or perhaps they have all morons working for them that they need more brains to help make simple arrangements?

Haven't they heard of travel agencies before? Its not like these ‘kings' are VVIPs that wherever they go they need to be fully secured, do they?

Maybe they are carrying bags of money for shopping. I am really disgusted.


On Umno bigwigs probed for money politics

Abdul Jamil Hj Khudri: Umno disciplinary committee member Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas's description of money politics/political corruption was that it is ‘the mother of all corruption'.

As I understand it, there are many who are in jail for being the ‘babies of corruption'.

So will the gentleman kindly explain to us (and to his esteemed committee) why Mr Khairy Jamaluddin is walking around freely in Perak with a big grin on his face?


On 'Nizar, are you or aren't you Perak MB?'

MJ: Zambry claimed that Nizar had stated his (Nizar) position as ‘Pasir Panjang assemblyman' and not as ‘menteri besar' in his nomination papers.

Just because Zambry is an intellectual with a PhD after his name does not give him the right to make all the others (especially the voters of Bukit Gantang) look stupid.

One should instead ask, what are the chances of Nizar's nomination papers being rejected by the BN-controlled EC if he had put his position of ‘mentri besar?

Go all the way PKR! Go all the way Nizar! We Malaysian are standing right beside you!

I would correct that. ‘...by the time Ezam arrived at the scene', should read more like, ‘...because Ezam arrived at the scene.'

Ezam unleashed? If truth be told, Ezam is good for Pakatan Rakyat. He is (as has been proven) what I would call, the BN's self-destruct button. Way to go, Ezam!


On Najib hails contribution of M'sian Chinese

CH Siew: I can't help but notice the timely thanks from our dear leader to the Chinese community in his time of need.

This is not the first time that an Umno politician has ‘bowed' to the Chinese to secure support. Similar events have happened in the past.

It seems to me that the Indians are not the only community being marginalised. The Chinese, too, have over the years been ‘tamed' to ‘respect' the Malay elite. The Chinese have also been living under constant threat of a repeat of May 13.

So after all this, and just a simple ‘thanks' from Najib? Honestly, if he is serious in building up the country, he should have done better.

First of all, what is he going to do to overcome the marginalisation of the other races by Umno? What is he going to do to curb corruption? Most importantly, how is he going to ensure that he keeps his word?

A simple thanks is a gimmick that don't interest me. As long as no solid action is undertaken to create a better Malaysia, he can kiss my vote goodbye.


On Malaysia and Malaysians are not the same anymore

Alfred Ho: I wish here to congratulate Karpal Singh and his son for standing up to the might of the BN government. The selective prosecution practiced by the ruling clique is most reprehensible.

Just like many other right-thinking Malaysians, I believe that the Najib regime will be more oppressive than that of Abdullah's and that Pakatan Rayat will have a much tougher time governing the states which they control.

Having been discriminated by the ruling government in the past and even despite the fact that I am a blind individual, I have the strong urge to stand as a candidate in any future election.

This I intend to do with the hope that I can help bring about a better Malaysia where all citizens will be given equal treatment.

Jeff: It's been only a year for PKR and many NGOs, Hindraf and even the people at large are judging this party unfairly.

Right now, the BN is in the middle of a crisis because the rakyat wants change but does the rakyat even know how to spell the word ‘change'?

If they want to continue to condemn PKR or any opposition party for their weaknesses, then I believe only in one thing - forget about having an opposition party.

Just vote for a new Castro and let the military rule this country. Period. Either we are too dumb or we are too greedy for money and power (subconsciously).
