In reference to your report, as a regular buyer and reader of The Sun, I feel extremely angry that many of the independent and vocal journalists who have kept me informed every day, are now sacked.

I think all oppressed journalists, whether they are from the Malay, Chinese or English media must unite to fight for their common cause and fate.

Perhaps malaysiakini should offer them as many jobs as possible. Readers of the website should perhaps donate more money to the only independent news organisation in Malaysia so that it can make good use of the talented journalists sacked by The Sun.

Meanwhile, victimised journalists of all media should perhaps organise a speaking tour to Indera Kayangan to inform the voters there of the state of journalism in Malaysia today.

I am sure many voters are sympathetic to the cause of free and independent journalism, and will vote accordingly.

In the long run, victimised journalists should not get demoralised. They should fight like the Chinese Malaysian journalists who opposed the MCA takeover of Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press.

Journalists have the brains and the pens and by making good use of them can help speed up the democratisation of this country.
