I refer to the Malaysiakini report Ali Rustam's appeal rejected.

While the whole world is talking and focussing on the 'conviction' of Malacca Chief Minister Ali Rustam by the Umno disciplinary committee, I am more concerned with the 'technical conviction' of the son-in-Law Khairy Jamaluddin who represents the new generation of Umno and who is supposed to take the Malays and Umno into the next millennium.

Khairy said he told the panel that he maintained that he was innocent (of money politics) but the panel insisted that he was 'technically' guilty and (perhaps) due to a lack of evidence, he was merely given a stern warning.

Whatever Khairy said, all Umno members, particularly those from UmnoYouth of which Khairy is the deputy leader, should now think again about thise new crop of Umno leaders, their sincerity, their honesty, their motivation and their sense of struggle to realise Umno's original philosophies.

I know I am talking nonsense because like their older counterparts, Khairy and the new generation of Umno leaders no longer have any sterling qualities because their sole aim in politics is to enrich themselves while the so-called Umno struggle is to them either no longer exists or is quite secondary.

The worst thing about Khairy and this new generation is that they only knew one thing and that is to succeed in Umno you must have a huge 'war chest' which comes up to many millions nowadays.

This so that you can throw it around during party elections to maintain your own network and machinery inside the party to ensure your survival. They don't see anything else or use any other methods and change this culture which someday can destroy Umno, the Malays and the country as a whole.

Pity, Khairy is an Oxford graduate (so also the new generation of Umno leaders whom are all highly educated), and yet their political thinking and philosophy are as rotten as the politics of Mayor Daley of Chicago or the politics of New Jersey where the Mafia even managed to instal their man as the governor.

The question is where is Khairy and the new generation of Umno leaders going to find the money to build up their war chests?

Khairy, who has maintained he is not rich, was quite happy to join in this abhorrent Umno culture of money politics until finally he was (technically) caught and given a stern warning.

Still, Khairy who is supposed to be a man of principles, had to cheek to put up a brave face and proclaim:’At least I can still contest in the party election.’

Whatever Khairy and the new generation of Umno leaders say to justify their actions, most Malays including many honest Umno members, know that the party is totally corrupt to the core, and it requires a major major cleansing to be trusted by the Malays again.

For instance, if Tunku Abdul Rahman (who was then a deputy public prosecutor) was persuaded by Abdul Razak to take over Umno (when Dato Onn quit), a panel of Umno elders should be set up to to search for an outsider to take over the Umno leadership and conduct a good and comprehensive cleansing exercise. Of course, I am talking in Utopia.
