I am indeed glad that Jian in his letter 'MCA factions must fight fair' (Dec 21) expresses disgust of what is happening in MCA. What Chua Jui Meng says about supporting Mahathir and nor Dr Ling is off tangent to the problem in MCA.

I believe him when he says that he is at a lost as how to answer or handle the manipulation and tinkering of the MCA constitution and bylaws by Dr Ling in order to stay in power. I am certainly amazed and amused by the way things are done by Team A.

The events unfolding is so disgusting that there is no iota of decency and smack of total abuse and misuse of power such as setting up a veteran committee, setting up a three-member committee to run the suspended Youth Wing, approving new branches and membership, just to mention a few.

Your columnist, MGG Pillai in his article ''Trouble-Free' MCA in big trouble ' (Dec 21), hit the nail right on the head.

I hope Jian will read the article and let the meaning sink in. And investigate more so as to know the actual sentiments of the Chinese community. I really fear for the integrity and credibility of Team A leaders and hence the whole of MCA if they win in next year's election.

It not a question of fighting fair and with a level playing field anymore. It has gone beyond fighting and representing the Chinese community.

It is holding onto power at all cost. I did and still do admire Dr Ling's past deeds and achievements and contributions to the Chinese communities. Please retire honourably and with dignity.
