There are accidents happening almost daily at an illegal U-turn near the Saraswathy Tamil School at Sungai Buloh, Selangor. I have spoken to various people but no help is forthcoming.

The Sungai Buloh Hospital road, which leads from the newly constructed flyover cum bridge, has the double lines from the entrance until Jalan Kg Jaya and Kg Melayu. A lot of cars and medium-sized lorries make illegal U-turns under the pedestrian bridge built for the Tamil school.

The vehicles from Subang New Village/RRI/Sungai Buloh New Village are to proceed to Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh to make their U-turn under the bridge or to take the hospital's exit road to the North-South Highway. Alternatively they can head towards Kepong and the Sungai Buloh Komuter railway station.

But the vehicles make illegal U-turns under the pedestrian bridge which has double lines. The cornering angle for vehicles is limited due to the narrowness of the curve of the road, forcing many vehicles to reverse before going on.

As such, these vehicles sometimes block the traffic going to the Kg Jaya Industrial Estate and the hospital. A newly built by-pass from Kg Seri Bunga to the railway station has been opened but we see very few cars using the new road.

I appeal to the local authorities to look into this problem immediately before any lives are lost. Prevention is better than cure.
