I refer to the letter Dress code part of life . I agree that dress code is a part of life. You need to dress appropriately for work, special occasions etc.

The problem is who is the one who decides (for all of us) the line between decent and indecent? I recently went to collect my new IC at at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Kota Tinggi, Johor.

Apparrently, they had a dress code for those who want to enter the building. I was wearing a collared T-shirt, bermuda shorts and sport shoes. It was deemed inappropriate because I wasn't wearing long pants.

I was refused entry by the guards (who were laughing away). It seems to me that they truly enjoy chasing away people who aren't dressed to 'their' standard!

Since when has dressing casually become obscene? Why is it inappropriate when I wear a pair of bermudas which reach to just above my knees?
